Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do I need a referral to be seen?
No you do not need a referral. Some third party insurances may require you to be seen by your primary care first but under most circumstances we do not need a referral to provide care.
  • Do you accept insurance?
We currently accept Medicare and a number of third party insurance providers.
  • What should I expect for treatment?
We will begin with a quick conversation regarding how things have changed since the last treatment and any changes we may need to make regarding care. From there we will begin the manual and more hands on components of treatment and end with any movement or exercises based activities. We will then discuss the next follow up and recommended treatment timelines moving forward.
  • Is there always cracking involved? What if I do not want that?
While we utilize a number of joint manipulation techniques that produce an audible noise we also have a number of tools that will not create the "cracking" sound. We never push therapies on patients and if you tell us you do not want your joints manipulated in a certain way we will approach the complaint with other therapies.
  • What if I do not have insurance?
We offer competitive self-pay pricing and we provide a time of service discount for payments in full at the time of service. Under most circumstance a self-paying patient will pay $50 for a typical treatment. For other services and examination fees please contact us by phone or email for further inquiry.
  • What should I expect with my first visit?
Your first visit is typically 30-60 minutes. We ask that you first complete our new patient paperwork which can be sent to your email or completed immediately prior to your appointment and takes about 10 minutes to complete. From there we begin with an in-depth history concerning your complaint and conduct a physical exam typically with the use of orthopedic testing, neurologic tests, palpation, and movement observations. We will then discuss the findings and potential treatment options that we can offer. Any questions regarding the potential treatments and expected outcomes will be discussed. If you decide to move ahead with care you can expect the first treatment immediately following the conversation regarding treatment options.
  • Do you treat injuries and complaints outside of the spine?
We treat any and all muscle and joint related complaints and injuries. We also offer therapeutic exercise and rehabilitative counseling as a self-pay service.
  • Will you xray me?
We can typically develop a diagnosis based on the physical and historical components of your complaint without the use of an xray. With that in mind, some injuries and histories may require diagnostic imaging. If that ends up being the case we will refer you to one of our community partners to complete the imaging. If you have relevant imaging regarding your complaint we ask that you bring any documentation you may have for evaluation.
  • How many visits does it take to feel better?
Most complaints we expect to respond in a positive way after the first treatment. The total span for most of the acute injuries we see is 4-8 visits over a 4-6 week span. If we are not seeing long term lasting improvements we will typically discuss further diagnostic or referral options. Chronic and long term based injuries can vary. Treatments can range from similar time frames as described above to an as needed basis to manage pain and symptoms.
  • What kind of therapies do you utilize?
We use a wide array of muscle and joint manipulation based therapies with some of the more common tools being: flexion-distraction, diversified chiropractic technique, myofascial manipulation and stretching, dry needling, therapeutic exercises, and electrical based therapies.
